About Casselman, Edmonton
Casselman is a northeast Edmonton neighbourhood offering a mix of single-family homes and multi-unit dwellings. The area features substantial recreational spaces, including 16-hectare McLeod Park, and well-placed pedestrian pathways that promote walkability. While there are no schools within Casselman, nearby McLeod offers access to multiple elementary and junior high schools.
Located between 144th and 153rd Avenue, and 50th and 58th Street, Casselman saw most of its residential construction in the 1970s and 1980s, with some additions in the early 2000s. The neighbourhood mainly consists of medium-density housing, including row houses and low-rise apartments. Named after Frederick C. Casselman, a WWI veteran and former City Council member, the area honours his contributions to Edmonton’s civic life.
