About Evansdale, Edmonton
Evansdale is a well-established neighborhood in northeast Edmonton, offering a mix of housing options and excellent accessibility. Bounded by 153rd Avenue, 144th Avenue, 82nd Street, and 97th Street, its major roadways provide residents with quick connections to the rest of the city. Originally annexed to Edmonton in 1961, Evansdale saw most of its development in the 1970s, with additional infill projects continuing into the 1980s and 1990s. The neighborhood features a variety of housing, including single and semi-detached homes, row housing, and low-rise apartments.
Evansdale is a family-friendly community with a strong sense of local pride. Residents enjoy convenient access to shopping and services at Dickinsfield Mall, as well as numerous amenities, including three schools, three parks, and a community league. The neighborhood was named in honor of H.M. Evans, a former mayor of Edmonton and president of the Edmonton Board of Trade in 1916. With its blend of residential diversity and community-oriented spaces, Evansdale remains a welcoming and well-connected part of the city.
