About Kameyosek, Edmonton
Kameyosek is one of the 26 neighbourhoods in Mill Woods, with most of its residential development occurring in the 1970s. The neighbourhood is centrally located and features a mix of single-detached homes, townhouses, and apartments, with higher-density housing near the central school site and along the main roadway.
Bounded by 28 Avenue to the south, 66 Street to the east, Mill Woods Road to the west, and 34 Avenue to the north, Kameyosek is bisected by Lakewood Road. Pathways extend from the park and educational facilities, promoting walkability. A small commercial plaza is situated in the southwest corner.
The neighbourhood is part of the Lakewood Community League, which also includes Tipaskan and Meyonohk. The name “Kameyosek” comes from the Cree language and means “the beautiful.”
