About Leger, Edmonton
Leger is in north-central Terwillegar Heights, bordered by Rabbit Hill Road, a utilities corridor, 23 Avenue, and Terwillegar Drive. The eastern half was once farmland, while the western half was a gravel quarry. Residential development began in the late 1990s and continued into the 2000s.
Single-detached homes dominate, with some medium-density housing. The eastern side is mostly residential, while the west features a district park, recreation centre, playing fields, and a major transit hub. A network of pedestrian and bike paths connects homes to commercial and recreational areas.
Leger is named after Edmund Hugh Leger, a longtime Edmonton politician who served as an alderman for 25 years.
