About Ottewell, Edmonton
Ottewell is one of Edmonton’s largest mature neighborhoods, bordered by major roads and home to a stable population, with many residents over 40.
Developed mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, it features single-detached homes, parks, schools, and religious centers. Capilano Mall serves as the commercial hub, with additional shops on 90th Avenue. Named after the Ottewell family, early settlers and entrepreneurs, the area was previously known as Braemar, East Glenora, and East Edmonton Park. Their historic log cabin is displayed at Fort Edmonton Park.
