Parkallen is a welcoming, family-friendly community near the University of Alberta and Southgate Shopping Centre. Formerly called Beau Park and Bridgeland, it was renamed in 1945 by local residents.
Developed mainly after World War II, Parkallen features a modified grid layout with a central park and school. It is primarily made up of single-detached homes, with some low-rise apartments and a small commercial area near the park. Landscaped buffers along major roads provide a quiet atmosphere, making it an ideal place to raise a family.
