Fraser is a peaceful residential neighbourhood situated along the north shore of the North Saskatchewan River Valley, between 144th and 153rd Avenue, and extending west of 18th Street to Victoria Trail. Annexed to Edmonton in 1961, Fraser was part of the Clareview Outline Plan approved in 1972, with development progressing throughout the 1970s and 1980s. The community offers a variety of residential options, with some parcels still awaiting development, particularly in the eastern half.
The neighbourhood features a central multi-purpose school and recreation area, along with a trail system that provides easy access to the nearby River Valley for outdoor activities. Residents also enjoy the convenience of a small shopping centre located at Victoria Trail and 161st Avenue. Named after John Fraser, a prominent early settler and educator, Fraser neighbourhood combines historical charm with modern suburban living in a serene riverfront location.
