About Brintnell, Edmonton
Brintnell is a modern neighborhood in Northeast Edmonton, developed in the early 2000s on land previously used for agriculture. Its development followed the 1981 Pilot Sound Area Structure Plan.
Bordered by residential areas to the south and west, and Gorman Industrial to the east, Brintnell mainly features single-family homes, most of which are owner-occupied. The neighborhood’s layout includes arterial roads on the exterior and loops and cul-de-sacs within. A powerline right-of-way running through the area provides a green corridor and pedestrian pathway. Access to Manning Drive is available via 160th Avenue, and development continues in the northern sections.
Named after aviator Wilfred Leigh Brintnell, the neighborhood honors his significant contributions to Canadian aviation, including his service during World War I and his induction into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame.
