Haddow is a peaceful, low-density residential neighbourhood located in the southwestern part of Edmonton, bordered by Terwillegar Drive and the North Saskatchewan River. Approved in 1993, development in Haddow began in the late 1990s, transforming the area from agricultural land into a charming community. The neighbourhood features single-detached homes as the predominant housing type, with some medium-density multi-family residences in the southern and eastern sections.
Access to Haddow is convenient, with major roads like Terwillegar Drive and Riverbend Road providing easy entry. The neighbourhood’s design includes a looping collector road with cul-de-sacs, as well as a school/park site at the centre. The stormwater management system integrates with Haddow’s open spaces, and a network of pathways offers pedestrian connectivity. Named after Albert Walker “Bert” Haddow, a long-serving city engineer, the community celebrates his legacy in shaping Edmonton’s infrastructure and recreational spaces.
