About Pollard Meadows, Edmonton
Pollard Meadows is a family-oriented neighborhood in southeast Edmonton, within the Mill Woods community. Developed primarily in the 1970s and 1980s, with some additional construction into the 2000s, the neighborhood features a mix of single-detached homes, semi-detached houses, row housing, and low to mid-rise apartments. Higher-density housing is concentrated along Mill Woods Road, near the central school and park site.
Pollard Meadows is home to one elementary and two junior high schools, all situated on a large recreational area that spans the southeastern boundary and extends into the heart of the neighborhood. While there are no commercial properties within Pollard Meadows, residents have easy access to retail and services at Mill Woods Town Centre Mall, located just northwest of the neighborhood.
Named after Joseph “Frank” Pollard (1872–1924), an industrialist and former Strathcona City Council member, the neighborhood honors his contributions to Edmonton’s early development.
