About Wellington, Edmonton
Wellington is a northwest Edmonton neighbourhood situated between 132 Avenue and 137 Avenue, west of 127 Street. Annexed in 1913, it remained largely undeveloped until the 1950s, with most of the neighbourhood built in the following decades. The community features primarily single-detached homes, with some semi-detached, row housing, and low-rise apartments, mainly along 140 Street and arterial roads.
Designed around a central school and park site, Wellington follows a modified grid layout with additional green spaces and a landscaped buffer separating it from the adjacent industrial area. Named after Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington, the neighbourhood has carried its name since 1910.
