Westbrook Estates is a prestigious southwest Edmonton neighbourhood known for its luxury homes, large lots, and natural surroundings. Developed on land annexed in 1960, it is bordered by the scenic Whitemud Creek Ravine to the west and features the exclusive Derrick Golf and Winter Club at its centre. Many homes back onto either the ravine or the golf course, with pathways throughout the community enhancing walkability and access to nature.
Most of the elegant single-family homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s, with additional development continuing into the 1990s. A small section in the northeast offers apartment and commercial space, while nearby shopping centres—Westbrook, Petrolia, and Southgate Mall—provide convenient amenities. While there are no schools within the neighbourhood, Westbrook Elementary and Vernon Barford Junior High are located just north in Aspen Gardens.
